Connecting to your life is when you read a part in a book and you think about how you relate. If your life connects to that part in some way. Lets say I read a part in a book about a persons mothers best friend dying of cancer. I can relate that to my life because my moms best friend died of cancer. Or another example that many teenagers can relate to is moving to a new school. if I did that in a book then someone who had moved to a new school could relate that to their life.
Chapter 1: You meet Susie Salmon a 14 year old girl. The 2nd sentence in you learn that she was murdered and what she looks like. Then she has a flashback about her neighbor Mr. Harvey. At first sight he seems like a nice guy but he is sinister and (I'm not going into detail because it would be awkward) he made a secret fort underground in a corn field and rapes Susie and kills her after!
Chapter 2: 3 days later Susie find herself in heaven and meets her room mate Holly who has also been there 3 days. Susie gets a lot of what she wanted on earth in heaven. You learn everyone's heaven is different but they all connect in some way or another. Susie watches her family from heaven wanting to help them solve he murder mystery. On earth they find her hat (it was used in her murder to gag her :( gross!) and the police also find her elbow bone, apparently a local dog found it and dug it up! Again GROSS! When Susie's father got the call he had to tell Susie's sister Lindsey about the find and she barfed! AGAIN GROSS! So, they rope off the cornfield and they talk about the book they found to one of the teachers Mrs. Stead it was Susie's copy of to kill a mockingbird. Then later they actually know Susie is dead although they haven't found a body yet. Susie tells you that her mother still wants to believe that Susie is alive. Then Lindsey goes back to school and she gets called down to the office. The Principle named Mr. Caden. He was talking to her about maybe joining the soccer team to get her mind off things. Lindsey didn't like this idea very much and all she said in the whole conversation was "I'd say it would be pretty hard to play soccer on the soccer field when it is approximately twenty feet from where my sister was supposedly murdered." Mr. Caden didn't have anything else to say after that. After Susie desired small things from earth that she didn't have in heaven like her pet dog and her parents and such.
So a lot of this I really can't relate to my life, but when Susie dies she goes to a new place (A.K.A. Heaven.) Well, I can relate because in 6th grade I moved here from Kennebunk so I know what it is like to be in a place where you don't know anyone and I don't know about anything. She died and went to Heaven. Whereas I died and went to Thornton.

Visualization
This post is going to be about visualization! Visualization is when you read a part in a book and you can see what is happening really well in your mind.

Prediction
Okay, so, my post for today is about my prediction. I don't know how the book ends or what happens next. So, I am going to use the facts I already have to make a prediction (or also known as an educated guess) instead of a guess about what happens. If I were to just guess about what is going to happen in the book chances are that I am not going to guess correctly. Like is a book is about romance I am definitely not going to predict that aliens are going to come and destroy the world. So, onward!
Okay, I am reading "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold! So far in the book (SPOILER ALERT***)

My prediction is that they find the rest of Susie's soon and then they use it to catch Mr. Harvey. And Mr. Harvey gets the death penalty and Mr. Salmon watches and so does Susie and then Mr. Harvey goes to H.E. 2 Hockey sticks if you know what I mean.
